About Us

Children’s Development First provides early intervention services for children from birth to 3 years of age that have developmental disabilities or significant delays.  In order to create a comfortable learning environment our team as Early Intervention are to be in homes or community settings where children and family experience their daily routines and where service providers have incorporated interventions collaboratively with the child’s caregivers during natural learning opportunities.  CDF is a woman owned company and contracts with two Early Steps regions, the Bay Area Early Steps (BAES) of the University of South Florida and the West Central Early Steps (WCES) of John Hopkins Medical Institute. Our team provides services in Hillsborough and Polk under the BAES contract and in Pinellas, Pasco, Citrus, and Hernando under the WCES contract.

Our team is comprised of providers whom are certified as Infant & Toddlers Development Specialists (ITDS), with backgrounds in psychology, mental health, or nursing.  Our ITDS, in conjunction with other early intervention providers such as Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Behavior Therapists, Psychologist and Service Coordinators assist the family in identifying and understanding the special needs of the child.

The team will work diligently towards enhancing the child’s development.  CDF use the state-approved assessment tools to plan services and monitor ongoing progress with each child.  These tools helps identify and target specific areas of work, each focusing on key underlying concepts, developmental levels and strengths
